Satan-worshipping middle school girls plotted to stab, dismember classmates: Police

An alleged plot by two middle school girls in Florida to kill and dismember as many classmates as possible may have been thwarted just in time to avoid a mass tragedy.

According to WTVT, detectives said the two girls, aged 11 and 12 years old, hatched up a plan to stab multiple students to death Tuesday in a bathroom of Bartow Middle School. Bartow is located approximately 40 miles east of Tampa.

Officials believe the duo intended to commit suicide following the killing spree.

Bartow police said the plot, which they believe was planned over the previous weekend, was thwarted by a fellow student who was told not to come to school that day “because something bad was going to happen.” The student reportedly told the teacher about the plan, who relayed it to the school principal, who then called authorities.

Bartow Police Chief Joe Hall said at a news conference that following an intense search, the girls were discovered in a bathroom of the school—the same place they are thought to have planned to stage their mass killing.

The chief said the girls prepared for the killings by bringing weapons that included knives, a sharpener, and a pizza cutter to the school.

When one of the suspects was searched, she was asked by school officials why she had the weapons. Hall said the girl then confessed that she and the other girl “were planning on attacking and killing as many students as possible.”

“They wanted to kill at least 15 people and were waiting in the bathroom for opportunity to find smaller kids that they could overpower to be their victims,” Hall stated.

When questioned by detectives, the middle schoolers allegedly claimed to worship Satan.

“Both students stated that they are practicing satanists,” the chief said. “They did make comments that they were willing to drink blood and possibly eat flesh.”

Investigators said a subsequent search of the girls’ homes revealed a “hand-drawn map” of the school with the words, “Go to kill in bathroom,” scrolled on it.

Hall told reporters that a search of the girls’ cell phones also found messages regarding the planned attacks, with one stating, “We will leave body parts at the entrance and then we will kill ourselves.”

Both suspects were arrested on charges including conspiracy to commit murder.

“I understand that the recent news of a plot to kill students at Bartow Middle School is troubling,” the chief said in a statement to parents and guardians of students at the school, posted on the Bartow Police Department Facebook page.

“In fact, it shook me to my core when I was notified of it. However, I want to make it clear that your children are our most precious citizens here in the City and we do everything we can, every single day to make sure our children are safe. We work very closely with the Polk County School Board and I want to assure you that I will do everything in my power to ensure safety.”
