Federal authorities have made an arrest in connection to a string of suspicious package deliveries made to high-profile Democrats like Bill and Hillary Clinton and Barack and Michelle Obama this week.
CNN reports that authorities have taken a man in custody in south Florida on suspicion of involvement in the mailings, which contained suspected explosive devices. As of Friday, at least a dozen suspicious packages have been discovered, packaged in envelopes marked with the return address of former DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schwartz. Most recently, packages sent to Sen. Corey Booker and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper were intercepted early Friday.
Multiple news outlets, citing law enforcement sources, reported that the suspect is a white male in his 50s who was taken into custody in Plantation, Florida, on Friday.
