Police have apprehended the suspected gunman in a mass shooting at a well-known synagogue in Pittsburgh.
A KDKA reporter on the scene tweeted late Saturday morning that the gunman who opened fire at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood had been apprehended, and was injured. The reporter also said that the death toll has now risen to 8 fatalities.

Another reporter, for Voice of America, tweeted that the gunman allegedly said “All these Jews beed die!” during a confrontation with police.

A CBS News broadcast corroborated the report that the gunman was shouting anti-Semetic slurs during the mass shooting, and also reported that at least three police officers were shot. Their conditions are not known at this time.
