Authorities in California say they have arrested a suspect in connection with a shocking video revealing a nearly deadly incident on the streets of downtown Los Angeles.
According to the New York Post, nearby surveillance cameras caught the terrifying moment one man pushed another into the path of a passing truck.
The man wearing a hooded sweatshirt can be seen shoving the pedestrian to the street from where he was standing on the sidewalk.
It is unclear from early reports what might have motivated the violent incident.
The suspect can be seen sitting on a bench before abruptly getting up and pushing the pedestrian who walked along in front of him.
A moment later, the large truck’s tire rolls into the frame and partially over the victim’s head and torso.
After the truck rolls backward, the man can be seen moving in the roadway.
Following the incident, he was treated for injuries including multiple broken bones and a collapsed lung.
The suspect can be seen walking out of the frame as the truck driver exits and passersby attempt to render aid to the victim.
Shortly after the crime, area firefighters reportedly spotted the suspect and alerted authorities.
After police officers arrived on the scene, the man was taken into custody based on his suspected involvement in the incident.
Following his arrest, investigators indicated he could face criminal charges including attempted murder.
