Comedian and actor Artie Lange took to Twitter on Christmas to post a selfie that showcased his nose, a topic of discussion that he recently admitted was destroyed due to years of drug use.
The former “Howard Stern Show” staple said his septumless nose is the result of more than 30 years of drug abuse. The candid post comes weeks after he violated his probation by testing positive for cocaine, amphetamine, benzodiazepines, and Suboxone but was spared jail time, according to NJ.com
Lange, 51, was sentenced to four years’ probation this June after pleading guilty last December to heroin possession. The possession charge stemmed from a May 2017 incident when he was caught with 81 decks of heroin during a traffic stop outside Bloomfield, New Jersey. For reference, a “deck” of heroin typically weighs 1-15 ounces and is used in one dose.
In their story, the outlet noted that Lange underwent surgery on his nose following an incident where he accidentally snorted glass while attempting to snort crushed-up Oxycontin pills.
“I wouldn’t be arrogant enough to come in here after using cocaine for two days,” he told a New Jersey court this month. “It’s in my system and it shouldn’t be.”
Despite his positive drug test, Lange tweeted celebrating that he hasn’t used heroin in 41 days. NJ.com noted that the comedian returned from a short stint in rehab earlier this month.
He wrote, “Hopefully I survive to help others. And to my angel Ali and my amazing amazing wonderful sister thx for saving my life again. It’s u mom and me sis. We are still here. Can’t keep the Langes down! Ok guys. Talk soon. It’s Artie. I ain’t goin nowhere. Peace. Love u all!!”
This is it but I believe her nose had a septum and had not been hideously deformed due to over 3 decades of drug abuse. pic.twitter.com/U2LmcnpI4B
