The man suspected of killing Colorado pilot and mother Kelsey Berreth appeared in court today for a hearing to determine temporary custody of his and the missing woman’s 1-year-old daughter.
Patrick Frazee was arrested on Friday on suspicion of murdering Kelsey Berreth, who has been missing since Thanksgiving. Berreth and Frazee are engaged, but did not live together. Police said at a news conference announcing Frazee’s arrest that they believe Berreth is no longer alive, and that a crime took place in her home in Woodland Park.
Prior to his arrest, Frazee had maintained custody of his 14-month-old daughter, who was put into protective services immediately after Frazee was arrested. On Thursday, Frazee appeared in court with Kelsey’s mother Cheryl Berreth for a hearing to determine who will have custody of the infant girl.
Multiple local news stations were present at the Teller County Courthouse on Thursday, though the hearing itself was closed to the public.
