YouTube celebrity Cameron Dallas assaults man during dispute at hotel, police say

Authorities in Colorado report that a popular social media entertainer was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a man at a hotel last week.

According to CNN, Aspen police officers responded to the Hyatt Residences Grand Aspen early Saturday morning in response to the report of an injured individual.

Emergency medical personnel arrived to treat the man police reported was bleeding from his face as a result of an assault.

After the alleged victim spoke to police, investigators say they identified 24-year-old Cameron Dallas as the suspect. He was reportedly staying at a room in the hotel at the time.

Dallas was arrested at the scene and transported to jail with bond set at $5,000. Police say he will face a felony charge of assault in the second degree.

He has since been released after posting bond and is expected to appear in court again later this month.

The entertainer, who found success on YouTube and Vine and has gone on to star in his own Netflix series, addressed the arrest in a Twitter post.

“Unfortunately sometimes in life you find yourself in a situation where you have to protect yourself and the people you care about, have a safe and happy new year, 2019 is going to be an amazing one,” he wrote.
