‘Complete chaos’: Multiple dead, others injured after shooting at bowling alley

Three people were killed and four others injured after a fight broke out at a bowling alley in California, the Associated Press reports.

Officers with the Torrance Police Department responded to the Gable House Bowl for a report of “shots fired” just before midnight Friday. Emergency crews discovered victims with gunshot sounds inside the bowling alley, which also offers a full arcade and laser tag, according to the venue’s website.

Three men died at the scene and four males were injured. Two of the victims were rushed to a hospital while two other victims sought their own medical care. Police have not yet disclosed what they believe triggered the shooting, however witnesses at the scene say the incident arose amid a tussle between two groups of people.

Wes Hamad said he observed a “huge fight” at the bowling alley, where he was enjoying the evening with his cousin and 13-year-old niece. Hamad, 29, said the brawl lasted approximately five minutes and that it had developed into “complete chaos.”

“I grabbed my niece and started running towards the far end of the bowling alley,” Hamad told the Associated Press. “As we were running, we heard 15 shots.”

Hamad said as he was leaving the bowling alley, he observed a woman crying over a man who had been shot multiple times in his neck and head. Another witness, Dana Scott, told RMG News that people bowling dove under benches and seats when gunshots rang out, according to CNN.

“People were looking for their parents, because this is a family league,” Scott said. “You’ve got mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, everybody’s friends in that league.”

Police are still working to identify the suspects in the incident.

The bowling alley is in Torrance California, which is about 20 miles west of Los Angeles along the Pacific coast.
