A woman in Mexico is being applauded after a viral video showed her throwing a flip-flop sandal at her daughter from about 100 feet away—and hitting the girl.
The unidentified mother is seen meandering into the street, where she held a sandal up in the air. Meanwhile a girl, identified as the woman’s daughter, took off running down a street, the Daily Mail first reported.

The mom was then seen getting into an aiming stance, before successfully chucking the flip-flop and hitting the intended target—her daughter.
While the unlikely event is said to have taken place in Mexico, the exact location isn’t clear.
The girl let out a shriek, evidently surprised at her mother’s impossible aim, before falling to the ground in apparent laughter. Mom leaned against a vehicle, chuckling at the events that just unfolded.
In Mexican culture, throwing flip flops as a form of discipline or to get a child’s attention is revealed as quite normal, according to a report by NPR.
A satirical Youtube video that poked fun at the practice, while applauding it for keeping children in line, has been viewed nearly 200,000 times.
