Close to two-dozen middle school students in Atlanta were reportedly taken by ambulance to a hospital after becoming sickened by what officials suspect was Valentine’s Day candy.
Channel 2 Action News reports that 21 students from Sandtown Middle School were taken by paramedics to a nearby hospital after eating the holiday candy and snacks. The type of candy eaten is not yet known, and the report does not specify what symptoms the affected students exhibited.
The news station reports that a helicopter belonging to the station was at the scene when one individual was taken away on a stretcher; and reporters on the ground observed ambulances taking patients from the school.
