BREAKING: Active shooter in Chicago suburb, schools on lockdown amid reports of multiple injuries

UPDATE: ABC 7 Chicago reports that the shooter is now in custody, and the four officers were reportedly shot. The condition of the police officers is not yet known, and authorities have not yet identified the suspect in custody. The alleged shooter appears to have been an employee at the manufacturing plant.


Authorities have responded to an active shooter situation developing in the Chicago suburb of Aurora, Illinois.

According to ABC 7 Chicago, the Kane County sheriff confirmed an active shooter at  Henry Pratt Company, a manufacturer in Aurora.

The report states that “several” have been injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The identity of the shooting suspect is not known, and the reports indicates that active shooting continued at the time of publication. Schools in the area have reportedly been placed on lockdown.
