Jussie Smollett appeared in bond court in Chicago for a bail hearing on Thursday afternoon, where a judge set the “Empire” actor’s bond at $100,000.
According to a reporter for the Chicago Tribune, Smollett will be released if he pays $10,000 of the deposit bond. According to CNN, Smollett is required to surrender his passport as a condition of release while his Class 4 felony case is pending.

Smollett was arrested on Wednesday and charged with disorderly conduct in connection to an allegedly false police report he filed regarding a purported hate crime on January 29, that authorities now believe was a hoax.
