Update

Baylee Sue Peebles has been found safe.

NBC 11 Alive reports that according to Arcade police Chief Randy Williams, the 1-year-old was placed in the custody of the GBI on Thursday after her father, 39-year-old Robert Joseph Peeples, dropped her off at a relative’s home in Gwinnett County. Baylee will undergo a medical examination before going back to her mother, but authorities said she appeared to be fine.

“I jumped up for joy, it feels like the weight has been lifted off our shoulders. This one has a happy ending,” Arcade Police Chief Randy Williams said.

Peeples fled the scene after dropping Baylee off, according to police, and is still on the run. He’s faces aggravated assault and kidnapping charges.
