The shooting prompted a candlelight vigil near the scene of the crime on Monday evening, but an armed individuals reportedly caused hundreds of mourners to disperse.

While two female gunshot victims reportedly arrived at an area hospital and said they had been injured at the memorial service, Police Chief Michael Moore said he was “lacking information that a shooting occurred.”

Authorities offered gratitude to those who helped them locate and arrest Moore.

“Thank you to both our community for the heightened awareness/vigilance, and our partners at [the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office],” the LAPD tweeted.

Officials confirmed Ashghedom “died as a result of the gunshot wounds he sustained” in the incident. The other victims were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
