Columbine-obsessed teen girl died of self-inflicted gunshot wound: Police

Law enforcement officials have confirmed that Sol Pais, the 18-year-old girl at the center of a massive manhunt in Colorado on Wednesday, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Pais was reportedly found dead at the base of Mt. Evans in Clear Creek County, two days after she traveled to Denver from Miami and purchased a gun and ammunition. Authorities said at a press conference Wednesday that they believe Pais was alone and did not have any help in any potential plan to commit mass violence.

Pais had reportedly made threats online and indicated to friends and family that she may be plotting to carry out a violent act. Authorities have not said if there were any specific targets, Pais was reportedly “infatuated” with the 1999 Columbine school shooting.
