SEE IT: Colorado school shooting suspect appears in court, faces 30 criminal charges

One of the two students arrested following a fatal school shooting in Colorado on Tuesday appeared in court on Wednesday afternoon for the first time.

A producer for Colorado news station KOAA posted a photo of Devon Erickson in a Douglas County courtroom Wednesday afternoon. The suspect, whose hair is dyed purple, was reportedly charged with one count of murder and 29 counts of attempted murder.

Authorities had said on Tuesday they were not yet releasing a photo of Erickson while the active investigation was in its early states. In a press conference Wednesday morning, Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock said that the second suspect in the fatal shooting is a juvenile female, who has not yet been identified.

Kendrick Castillo, 18, was fatally shot when he confronted one of the shooters. He was reportedly three days away from finishing his classes at STEM School Highlands Ranch before graduation.

Authorities have not yet released a motive for the shooting, as three of the seven surviving victims remain hospitalized.

CrimeOnline will provide further updates when more information is available.
