A woman was arrested Wednesday, a day after she allegedly attempted to abduct a 4-year-old boy from a McDonald’s in California.
Citing police, KTLA reported that Maralyn Ramos, 33, was arrested in downtown Los Angeles Wednesday evening. Her arrest followed her alleged attempted kidnapping of a 4-year-old boy at McDonald’s.
Surveillance cameras reportedly caught the McDonald’s incident. Ramos was allegedly filmed carrying the boy out of the restaurant. Ramos was stopped as she got into a vehicle, leading her to let go of the child and flee on foot, according to the news station.
The news station reported that Ramos wasn’t involved in another attempted kidnapping of a 4-year-old boy in downtown Los Angeles. During that incident, which also occurred on Tuesday, a witness reportedly stopped the unidentified suspect from snatching the child.
Los Angeles police said they plan to release security camera footage in the downtown attempted kidnapping, according to KNBC.
KNBC also reported that Ramos is from Arizona and authorities don’t know how long she’s been in California. Authorities said a tip resulted in her arrest.
Ramos was charged with suspicion of attempted kidnapping and is being held on $100,000 bail.
