‘I have no idea where she is!’: ‘Game of Thrones’ actress says social services ‘kidnapped’ her baby in the middle of the night

“Game of Thrones” actress Josephine Gillan made a public plea for help last week after Israeli social services workers reportedly took her 8-month-child.

Independent reports that Gillan, who plays Marei on the popular HBO series, said she left her daughter in the care of a friend while getting treatment for postpartum depression. Yet, officials, reportedly carrying out a court order, took the infant from Gillan’s friend and placed the baby in the agency’s care, allegedly without explanation.

“Three nights ago the social services came in the night at 12:30am!” Gillian wrote on a GoFundMe page set up to help her with legal fees. “With the police and kidnapped my daughter and took her to another family! I’m not allowed to see her or have contact! I have no idea where she is.”

Gillan added that she has “not done anything wrong” and has no idea why social services took the child.

“My friend has been amazing and her and her amazing family love and cares for my daughter Gloria with a true love to me and her.”

Gillan, a British-Israeli, said she gave birth to the baby in Israel. She said she never expected social services to take the child away.

“I did anything Israel wanted me to do, I wanted Israel to help me,” Gillan told The Jewish Chronicle. “But they decided to take my baby from my care and they didn’t help me – they made things really bad for me.”

A spokesperson for Israel’s Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Social Services declined to comment on the case, reportedly stating, “cases such as this are under complete confidentiality by law, therefore it is impossible to reveal identifying details.”

The agency added that “the baby’s best interest is what leads any action taken by the ministry.”

Earlier this year, the actress reportedly told British tabloid The Sun that she was addicted to drugs prior to landing a role on “Game of Thrones.”

“I was addicted to cocaine and to keep the supply I needed I had to sell my body three or four times a week,” the actress reportedly said.

However, Gillan added that her recurring role on “Game of Thrones” saved her life and kept her clean. She also reportedly signed a deal to do three independent films, the tabloid reported.
