BREAKING: Five dead and 21 injured, including police officers, in mass drive-by shooting in Texas

At least five people are dead and more than 20 have been injured in a mass, drive-by shooting in West Texas.

According to CNN, the suspected shooter is among the five dead after the gunman opened fire as he was driving between Midland and Odessa, Texas. The suspect was apprehended and fatally shot at the Cinergy Movie Theater, where he exchanged gunfire with responding police officers.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims, and shooter has been identified only as a white male in his thirties. At least three law enforcement officers were injured by gunfire, Odessa Police Chief Michael Gerke said at a news conference on Saturday.

Initial reports suggested that two shooters may have been involved, but authorities are now saying that the active shooting has ceased. The suspect is believed to first been driving in a gold Toyota but later took the wheel of a United States Postal Service van as he continued his rampage.
