The California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert Saturday for 2-year-old John Weir, believed abducted by his father Friday night.

Police described Steven Weir as “armed and dangerous” and said he was threatening suicide before he left with his son, ABC30 reported.

Steven Weir, 32, is 5’10”, weighs 300 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes, police said. John Weir is blond with blue eyes and was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and tan shorts.

Weir was last seen driving a red 2005 Hyundai Elantra with California license plate 5SKT544 when he took the boy from his home in Merced. CHP asked that anyone sighting them call 911.
