BREAKING: Gunshots at Washington state senior living facility

Police in Vancouver, Washington, believe an 80-year-old man has opened fire in the senior living facility where he lives, The Columbian is reporting.

Reports from the scene say that at least three people have been wounded and one may be dead. Fox 12 Oregon reported that the Vancouver Fire Department said two people had been taken to a hospital.

The Columbian reported that the suspect has been contained in his apartment on the 13th floor of the building.

The incident is taking place at Smith Tower, where some residents have been evacuated and others ordered to shelter in place. Smith Tower is a 170-unit facility that serves seniors 62 and over and is owned by Mid-Columbia Manor Inc., a non-profit corporation comprised of local labor unions.
