Authorities in Virginia have reportedly narrowed in on a two-mile search zone as they pursue a suspected kidnapper and the 14-year-old girl he is believed to have abducted from her Louisa County home on October 21.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Isabel Hicks and Bruce Lynch, 33, were spotted in Hanover County on Monday night when they reportedly knocked on the door of a residence near Montpelier. A woman who lives in the home reportedly told police that the pair was dressed in dark and/or camouflage clothing. She said that Hicks and Lynch ran off in the direction of the woods when she told them they were wanted by authorities.
Hanover County Sheriff’s Sgt. Steve DiLoreto told The Roanake Times that police quickly responded to the report of the sighting, arriving at the home within 15 minutes and setting a perimeter around the area.
“There’s been a very methodical, slow, coordinated search right now in the area surrounding the area where they were last seen,” Hanover Co. Sgt. Steve DiLoreto told reporters, according to KFVS-12. “That’s in the upwards to two miles from the original area.”
On Wednesday, local authorities held a press conference where they shared a retouched image of Lynch without his facial hair, as the witness who spotted them on Monday night told police that Lynch no longer had a beard or mustache.

As WAVY.com reports, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office said at the news conference that the search effort had doubled as more law enforcement agents joined the manhunt. The FBI had previously joined the search late last week.
Authorities issued an AMBER Alert on Friday in the suspected kidnapping case, along with a warrant for Lynch’s arrest on felony abduction charges. As CrimeOnline previously reported, sources told a local news outlet that Lynch is Isabel’s mother’s former boyfriend, and that he lived in their home until he was kicked out a month ago.
The sources reportedly said they believed Isabel did not leave with Lynch against her will. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and may be suicidal.
The pair is believed to be traveling in a silver-blue 2003 Toyota Matrix, blue/silver with Virginia tag VEM9071 or Virginia UXW3614 or 249-9UT. The vehicle is reportedly missing its right rear door handle.
Lynch is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes; 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds.
Isabel Hicks is white with blonde hair and blue eyes; 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds.
Anyone with information is urged to call 911, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office at (804) 261-1044, or the Richmond Division of the FBI at (804) 261-1044.
