Authorities in Texas arrested a man on drunk driving charges on Thursday after the man allegedly stabbed his wife and then drove her to the hospital.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said that the unidentified man took his injured wife to Houston Methodist West hospital. Once there, the man allegedly caused a disturbance which ended with officers arresting him on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, was airlifted to another hospital in critical condition. Gonzalez said in a subsequent tweet that the woman is in stable condition.

Update on stabbing incident: the injured female has been stabilized at the hospital & expected to survive. Details remain fragmented, investigation is on-going to determine the circumstances surrounding the stabbing. The initial location where incident occurred is also not known.

It is unclear where the alleged stabbing occurred. Police said the incident remains under investigation.
