The mistress of the man accused of killing Kelsey Berreth revealed the young mother’s last dying words, claiming Patrick Frazee recounted the brutal murder after demanding that she clean up the crime scene.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Krystal Lee, who has dropped her married name of Kenney, testified for the prosecution this week at Frazee’s murder trial in Teller County, Colorado, detailing Frazee’s alleged attempts to convince her to murder Berreth before he ultimately killed the mother of his child himself at her Woodland Park townhouse on Thanksgiving Day, Lee said.
CBS News reports that Lee revealed Berreth’s purported last words during her courtroom testimony Wednesday, which has been closed to cameras. Lee reportedly claimed that Frazee admitted to fatally beating Berreth with a bat, and said her last words were “please stop.”
According to the Denver Channel, Lee also testified that Frazee appeared regretful about killing Berreth with a bat, saying he felt it was “inhumane” and that he would use “normal weapons” in the future.
Lee testified that she helped Frazee burn a number of items taken from Berreth’s apartment, and that she did not look inside a large tote bag that may have contained Berreth’s body.
Investigators have not recovered Berreth’s remains despite an extensive search of a Colorado landfill.
It’s been a rather strange day in court. We were supposed to start at 8:45, so the court could handle a private matter. We didn’t begin until 10:30. Judge said Frazee was feeling sick, as was Kenney. @KOAA #KelseyBerreth #PatrickFrazee #KrystalKenney

Witness testimony at Patrick Frazee’s murder trial has continued on Thursday, after a delayed start, reportedly because both Frazee and Lee were feeling under the weather Thursday morning.
CrimeOnline will continue to provide updates as the trial proceeds.
