DEVELOPING NOW: Santa Clarita school shooting suspect is in custody, condition unclear

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s office confirmed only that the suspect is being treated at Henry Mayo Newhall hospital. The spokesperson could not confirm if the suspect was alive or dead, just that he had been taken to the hospital. There is no further information available on the type of injuries.

CNN had previously reported that the suspect was dead, citing two law enforcement sources.

Citing law enforcement sources, CNN is reporting that the shooting suspect is dead. It is unclear how the shooter died and authorities have not yet released his name.

Authorities searching for the suspect in a school shooting in California Thursday morning appear to have focused on a residence that may be connected to the suspect.

KABC live video broadcast on Facebook appears to show armed authorities surrounding a residence at an unknown location.

ABC 7 news reported via Twitter that officers have surrounded a home as the manhunt continues for the suspect behind the Saugus High School shooting.

According to the latest from ABC 7 news, six people have been transported to the hospital. As CrimeOnline previously reported, two victims arrived to a hospital in critical condition.

Authorities have not released the name of the suspect, but he is believed to be an Asian male, dressed in all black, who is a student at Saugus High School.
