Father of missing toddler Vanessa Morales named a suspect in her disappearance

The father of a 1-year-old Connecticut girl who has been missing since her mother was found dead in their Ansonia home has been named a suspect in her disappearance.

WTNH reports that Jose Morales has been named a suspect in the disappearance of his daughter Vanessa Morales, who has not been seen in weeks. Her mother, Christine Holloway, was found dead of blunt-force trauma in her home on December 2. As CrimeOnline previously reported, Jose Morales was named a suspect in Holloway’s death last week.

Holloway has been in custody since early December on an unrelated weapons charge.

Ansonia police reportedly believe that Vanessa is still alive, and continue to urge anyone who knows where she is or who has her to come forward.

“We are not looking to arrest or start criminal proceedings against whoever has Vanessa; we just want her returned to her family,” the Ansonia Police Department said in a news release obtained by WTNH.

Lt. Patrick Lynch of Ansonia Police Department told the news station that authorities are continuing to look at other individuals who may be connected to Vanessa’s disappearance.

“We’re still following other leads and doing other follow ups.,” Lynch said.

We haven’t focused solely on him. Right now he is the best person of interest at this time.”
