A NYPD transit officer based in Long Island has been charged with murder in the death of his eight-year-old son.
As the Daily News reports, Michael Valva, 40, and his fiancée, Angela Pollina, 42, have been charged with the murder of his 8-year-old son Thomas Valva, who died last week, reportedly after a fall in his driveway in Center Moriches last Friday.

The circumstances of Thomas’s death remain unclear.
Valva was suspended without pay from the NYPD, where he reportedly worked as a transit officer since 2005, according to police sources who spoke to the Daily News.
