BREAKING: Father, kidnap suspect of missing AMBER Alert baby found dead

The suspected abductor of an infant who went missing from a home where a triple homicide took place has been found dead.

CBS Miami reports that Ernesto Caballeiro, 49, was found dead inside a car Thursday afternoon, and his injuries reportedly suggest a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The missing week-old infant, identified as Andrew Caballeiro, has not been found. The report does not indicate if investigators have any idea where the baby may be at this time. Early Wednesday, Florida authorities issued an AMBER Alert for the infant and the suspect, reportedly the baby’s father. The alert said that the baby was believed to be with the suspect, who was traveling in a white Ford van.

The baby and the suspect are believed to have resided at a South Miami-Dade home where three women between the ages of 40 and 80 years old were found dead on Tuesday.

Authorities have not yet released the identifies of the victims, who were all shot, though Ernesto Caballeiro is believed to have been related to at least one of the victims.

The Pasco County Sheriff’s office confirmed the suspect’s death in a Twitter post and said that authorities are continuing to search for the missing infant.
