Crews search lake near University of Tennessee research center after missing woman’s car found on campus

Multiple agencies in East Tennessee were searching a lake near Knoxville on Saturday for a missing Jefferson County woman after her car was found on the University of Tennessee campus near the school’s Research Park at Cherokee Farm.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported Tiffany Trull missing Saturday morning. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue long sleeved shir,t and a white hoodie and is 5 foot 2 inches, weighing about 148 pounds.

Boats from the Knoxville Fire Department and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency scoured Fort Loudon Lake near the research park and the University of Tennesee Medical Center across the lake from the main campus while a Knox County Sheriff’s Office helicopter buzzed overhead, WVLT reported. There are also numerous trails and parks in the area.

The area is about 30 miles from Jefferson County.

Jefferson County authorities asked that anyone with information about Trull’s whereabouts call 911 or Jefferson County Central Dispatch at 865-475-6855.
