Alabama police are asking for the public to be on the lookout for a missing 4-year-old girl.
Evelyn Vadie Sides was last seen walking a red hound dog off of the 5000 block of Lee Road 66 in Loachapoka, at around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities said she was reported to be near the bridge in Lee County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Community Information Center.
Evelyn is described as a white female with red hair, who stands 3 feet tall and weighs 40 pounds. According to Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones, she was last seen wearing a blue print dress with green flowers.
“What we have reported was a four-year-old child that was in the care of a friend of the family of the child,” Jones said, according to “She reported that she and the child were out near the residence taking a walk and the child disappeared from view.”

Numerous agencies are assisting in the search, including ALEA Troopers, EMA CERT volunteers, Lee County Deputies, and a number of agencies in the surrounding areas.
“Right now, we’re at the point where, of course the sun has set, darkness has set in,” Jones said. “We are working the roads, setting up teams along all of the roadways and access roads in the general area, surrounding the area where she was last seen.”
At this time, authorities are not asking for volunteers to help in the search.
