Mayra Guillen, the soldier’s sister, posted on Facebook that her sister’s phone was last pinged near Belton, about 20 miles east of the Army post.

“Something is not right,” she wrote, “please help me find her.”

Her sister added that Guillen was happy and always smiling, and had reason to simply vanish.

“She was actually very happy. You can see in every picture she was smiling.”

The sister told NBCDFW she felt something was off after Guillen sent a text message on April 22 about “going in to work” at around 9 a.m., then stopped all communication afterward. Her cellphone, which was apparently turned off by someone, is also missing.

Guillen’s boyfriend, Juan Cruz, posted a tweet on Friday, asking for the public’s help.

“An extensive search is underway by military members, as well as civilian and military police,” authorities said last week.

According to the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command, Guillen is originally from the Houston area.

Guillen is of Hispanic descent, stands 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 126 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. She has three tattoos: a cross with a flower and a flower, both on her left arm, and a mountain on her upper left shoulder. She also has a mole on the left side of her chin.
