On Thursday, police arrested a Michigan man who allegedly attacked a 75-year-old nursing home patient last week.
The Detroit Free Press reported that the filmed incident is believed to have taken place May 15 at Westwood Rehabilitation Nursing Center in Detroit. Police said the victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries in connection with the alleged assault.
Video footage posted to social media appears to show the suspect repeatedly punch the elderly patient until he draws blood. The nursing home was reportedly unaware of the attack until the footage surfaced online.

Though authorities have not yet publicly named the suspect, local reports have described him as a 20-year-old man who’s also a patient at the nursing home where the alleged incident took place.
The law firm representing Westwood Rehabilitation Nursing Center told WDIV that the suspect isn’t a long-term patient, but is admitted into the home for rehabilitation and recovery on a temporary basis.
The Detroit News reported that the suspect was taken into custody at the nursing home. Police said they’re holding him on suspicion of assault and battery in relation to last week’s incident.
