UPDATE: Body of missing toddler girl found

The girl’s father said he woke to find her missing, and a back door to the residence hanging open

UPDATE: Police believe they have found the body of missing 3-year-old girl Olivia Jansen.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Authorities in Kansas issued an AMBER Alert for a 3-year-old girl who was reportedly taken from her home on Friday morning.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department said in a statement Olivia Jansen was last seen at her home located in the 4400 block of Gibbs Road. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children said Jansen’s father woke up at 6:30 a.m. and found his daughter was missing from the residence and the back door was open.

Investigators believe Jansen was taken from her home and did not leave on her own, due to her age and a search of the surrounding area. A suspect in this case has not yet been identified.

Jansen was described as being 3-feet tall, 50 pounds, and having brown hair and blue-green eyes. She was reportedly last seen wearing pink pajamas with purple or teal pants. Her hair was in a ponytail.
