DEVELOPING: Gunman in FedEx uniform shoots son and husband of Federal Judge Esther Salas at their home; judge’s 20-year-old son killed [Reports]

A suspect reportedly dressed in a FedEx uniform shot the husband and son of federal Judge Esther Salas at the family’s New Jersey home on Sunday. According to early reports, the judge’s son is dead and her husband is in critical condition.

The New Jersey Globe reports that 20-year-old Daniel Anderl, U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas’ son, was killed. Her husband Mark Anderl, 63, is reportedly in critical but stable condition after undergoing surgery at a hospital in New Brunswick.

According to NBC 4 New York, Mark Anderl answered the door to the gunman, who was reported elsewhere to have been wearing a FedEx delivery driver uniform. That report states that the gunman shot the elder Anderl before his son came running to the door. The gunman reportedly remains at large after shooting the father and son, and fleeing the scene.

There are conflicting reports about who first answered the door. Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone told ABC News that Daniel Anderl, a student at Catholic University in Washington, D.C., was shot in the heart.
