Missing American mom found dead in Mexico, scalped with all of her teeth forcefully pulled out: Reports

A Texas mother of two young children has been found dead after she made a day trip to Mexico, with promises to return home in the evening.

ABC 5 reports that 23-year-old Lizbeth Flores told her mother on August 9 that she would be home to their Brownsville residence later that evening after making a trip to Matamoros, Mexico, reportedly to visit her boyfriend. When Flores hadn’t returned home by the following day, her mother contacted police.

On August 11, authorities found Flores deceased on the side of the road in Matamoros, She had been beaten with a large rock. Her scalp had been removed and her teeth forcefully pulled out.

Flores’ mother believes that she was a victim of extortion and that a gang of kidnappers brutally tortured her to death.

“Losing a child is like having your heart ripped out,” mother María Rubio said during an interview with Telemundo on Friday. “I feel very sad for what they did to my daughter. How they left her is what pains me. The pain that my daughter went through there at that time is what pains me.’

“She was young. She had many things in front of her, and more because she had two children. I want that, what they did to my daughter, everyone that took part in her death, I want them to pay.”

So far, no arrests have been made. The FBI is assisting in the investigation.
