Knoxville Police said in a statement posted to Twitter Monday that the male who was killed on Monday was a possible suspect in the shooting incident. Another person has been detained for questioning.

One person has died following a shooting at Austin-East Magnet High School on Monday afternoon.
Citing Knoxville police, CBS News reports that one person, a male, has died in the apparent shooting. Another person has reportedly been detained.
A police officer working as Austin-East Magnet High School’s School Resource Officer was reportedly shot in the hip, and is expected to recover.
Police have not identified the deceased individual or the person who was taken into custody.
