SEE IT: Teen suspect in 13-year-old girl’s murder takes selfie in back of squad car, posts with chilling message

The 14-year-old boy accused of murdering a 13-year-old girl reportedly took a Snapchat selfie while in the back of a squad car following his arrest.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Aiden Fucci, 14, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the death of Tristyn Bailey, who was found dead on Sunday evening, hours after her family reported her missing from her home in St. Johns, Florida.

Authorities have released very few details about the murder, and said at a news conference Monday that a medical examiner is still working to determine the girl’s cause of death. A resident who volunteered to search for Tristyn found her body in a wooded area near his home in St. Johns, and reportedly not far from where Tristyn was last seen at an amenities center in the Dublin Crossing neighborhood.

Tristan’s family reportedly said they saw Tristyn at home at about midnight.

A reporter with WJXT posted a Snapchat screenshot from what is believed to be Fucci’s account, showing the teen suspect in the back of a police squad car, making a peace symbol with one hand. The caption reads, “Hey guys has anybody seen Tristyn lately.”

The reporter confirmed that the photo is part of the criminal investigation.

St. Johns Sheriff Robert Hardwick said at a news conference Monday that further or elevated charges against Fucci are possible. Detectives are reportedly speaking to multiple witnesses, but it is unclear if any are believed to have witnessed the crime.

Police have not yet commented on a possible motive.
