Colorado police are searching for an 8-year-old boy who disappeared from the Lakewood area on July 4 and need the public’s help in locating him.
According to Lakewood police, Derek Montoya was last at around 6 p.m. near 7393 W. Jefferson Avenue. He was last seen wearing black high-top shoes, a black t-shirt, and khaki shorts.

So far, authorities haven’t provided additional information about the case. It’s unclear if foul play is suspected at this time.
