Ex Kills Pregnant Mom & Her New Boyfriend in Broad Daylight, At Youth Soccer Game In Front of Children: Police

A Texas man is behind bars after police say he shot and killed his pregnant ex-wife and her boyfriend at her children’s soccer game.

According to police, the incident happened in Harris County on Saturday. The suspect allegedly confronted the couple at the Matias Almeyda Training Center facility off of Clow Road. Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at the scene to find a pregnant woman and an adult male both shot.

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The female victim was rushed to the hospital but ultimately passed away from her injuries, the Houston Chronicle reports. The unborn baby did not survive.

The female victim’s family told police that the gunman was her ex-husband. He allegedly sent a text before the shootings, claiming he planned to take his own life. Authorities found him around two hours later at a home off of Bayou Forest in Harris County. The suspect was dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Dozens of children were playing in a soccer tournament near the crime scene. None of the children were injured but many of them witnessed the shootings, Click2Houston reports.

“I was on the bench. I was watching the game. I heard the first gunshot. I looked around to see what was happening. I thought a car had crashed or a wheel exploded or something like that. I saw the guy pick up the gun and started shooting both the woman and the man,” soccer player Angel Guerrero told Click2Houston.

“I’m just surprised things happen like this. You don’t really expect it at a soccer game.”

Investigators haven’t released the names of the victims or the suspect. The story is developing. Check back for updates.
