According to police, all of the victims survived, although the 4-year-old was listed in critical condition, Fox 59 reports. So far, a description of the suspect has not been provided.
Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett said the shootings were a “cowardly act.”
“Tonight, our thoughts are with all those impacted, including those injured in the shooting, their families, and a neighborhood scarred by a cowardly act. Far too many residents have borne the consequences of the combination of firearms and failed conflict resolution, and I join a frustrated community in calling for an end to this cycle of violence.”
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Detective Justin Gray at the IMPD Aggravated Assault Office at 317.327.3475 or e-mail at Justin.Gray@indy.gov.
