Police have arrested a suspect in three murders at two different locations, and an 8-year-old girl is among the victims.
According to NBC News, 26-year-old Victoria Manisco, a student, was found fatally shot on the front porch of her home in St. Louis on Tuesday night.
The next afternoon, Terri Bankhead’s concerned mother went to her home, about eight miles away from where Manisco was found dead. There, the woman made a horrific discovery: Her daughter and 8-year-old granddaughter Da’nilya Edwards were fatally shot, reportedly tied to a bed in the home.
The murders appear to be connected somehow, though it is not known if the victims at the separate murder scenes had any relationship to each other.
In a statement obtained by NBC News, St. Louis police said that 18-year-old Prinshun McClain has been charged with all three murders. The suspect is also charged with one count of burglary and four counts of armed criminal action. Authorities have not yet commented on a possible motive.
“It’s just so unreal. Well, now I have a little relief because they caught him,” Bankead’s mother Terri Ward told reporters after learning of the arrest. This is a developing story.
