Search crews found the body of Gabby Petito Sunday in the remote Spread Creek Dispersed Camping area of Bridger-Teton National Forest, adjacent to Grand Teton National Park, where the 22-year-old last spoke with her family.
It’s unclear if Petito’s body was buried, but CrimeOnline’s Nancy Grace pointing out on her investigative look into the special Sunday night, “If she’s buried, he did it,” referring to Gabby’s boyfriend, Brian Laundrie.
A helicopter crew from KSL in Salt Lake City was overhead when crews spotted something. Morgan Wolfe was in the chopper:
From @KSL5TV chopper 5– we saw a group of investigators in the Spread Creek area that all started pointing towards something.
Then — a large group of them walked back to the road as we saw another investigator walked over with awning that they set up.

“We saw a group of investigators in the Spread Creek area that all started pointing towards something,” she wrote on Twitter. “Then — a large group of them walked back to the road as we saw another investigator walked over with awning that they set up.”
Once the awning was up, Wolfe said, investigators wearing blue gloves began taking photos of the area, which she said was about 200 yards from the road.
Wolfe couldn’t identify what the searchers saw — and the video didn’t show anything identifiable in the spot, even though the camera had a good view beneath the awning as it was being extended over the area.
The FBI announced they’d found a body “consistent with the description of Gabby Petito” at a late afternoon news conference. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
