Public Records Confirm Brian Laundrie’s Mother Went to Fort De Soto in September

Public documents from Pinellas County, Florida, indicate that fugitive Brian Laundrie’s mother, Roberta Laundrie, checked into a Fort De Soto campsite in September.

The documents were obtained first by News Channel 8, which showed that “Mrs. Laundrie checked into ‘Site 001-Waterfront’ between Sept. 6 and Sept. 8.” The documents didn’t indicate who was with her, the outlet reports.

A lawyer for the Laundrie family, Steven Bertolino, reportedly said that the family, including Brian Laundrie and his father, went camping from September 6 to September and all left the campsite together.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, 23-year-old Laundrie is wanted on a felony warrant following the death of his girlfriend, 22-year-old Gabby Petito. Laundrie and Petito embarked on a cross-country trip in July, but by September 1, Laundrie returned to his parents’ Florida with Petito’s van, sans Petito.

Earlier this month, authorities found Gabby’s deceased body in a remote area at the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming. Officials confirmed that the manner of death was a homicide but the cause of death is still pending.

Authorities issued the federal warrant for Laundrie for allegedly using a Capitol One Bank debit card without permission after Gabby passed away. Laundrie is said to have used the card between August 30 and September 1, “knowingly and with intent to defraud.”

Laundrie is now on the run, although his parents insist they have no idea where he is. They told police that Laundrie went to the Carlton Reserve in Florida on September 14 and never returned.
