Brian Laundrie hiding under a flower bed in his parents’ backyard?

A viral video is advancing a conspiracy theory that Brian Laundrie may be hiding underneath a flower bed at his parents’ home in Florida, Newsweek reports.

The video, which has been posted on multiple social media sites, appears to show footage from a drone flying above Chris and Roberta Laundrie’s backyard.

A woman who looks like Roberta Laundrie is seen working on a flower bed, and some social media users bizarrely contend that the video shows a hand coming out of the flower bed and passing something to Roberta.

A man who appears to be Chris Laundrie is seen standing nearby.

It is not clear what day the drone footage was recorded or whether it had been edited.

Even so, some social media detectives are confident about what’s in the video, according to comments reviewed by CrimeOnline.

Charlienovasite, who posted a version of the video to TikTok, wrote: “There is definitely someone there. You cannot change my mind.”

Another TikTok user, mamabear_xo, wrote in a comment to the video that “Brian is under the garden bed. Watch him hand his mother something.”

TikTok user kmiller480 was even more damning, responding to the news that Chris Laundrie recently helped search for Brian at a massive wildlife reserve.

“Chris Laundrie agrees to assist in the search for his son, Brian. Meanwhile Roberta Laundrie is busy as ever in the garden. Has the FBI checked the garden?” the comment said.

However, others are skeptical.

Twitter user @Erin_Rae_ wrote: “I can’t believe people actually think Brian Laundrie is in a bunker under their flower bed. Realistically, who would coincidentally have an underground bunker in their backyard already OR be able to build one by the time they realized Gabby was missing.”

Said another Twitter user: “Stop with this ridiculous story about Brian Laundrie hiding in a stupid flower bed in the parents backyard. It’s not remotely funny.”

Laundrie’s parents allege they have not seen him since September 13, when he reportedly went for a hike in the 25,000-acre Carlton Reserve.

Investigators want to speak with Laundrie about the disappearance and death of Gabby Petito, whose body was found September 19 in Wyoming.

Laundrie and Petito had gone on a road trip across the country over the summer, but Laundrie returned to Florida alone on September 1. He refused to talk with the police about Petito after her mother filed a missing person’s report.

Authorities have also issued an arrest warrant for Laundrie for allegedly misusing a bank card. He has not yet been named a suspect in Petito’s murder.
