Missing Utah College Student Madelyn Allen Found Safe and Alive

A Utah college student who hadn’t been seen since she left her dorm Monday night has been found safe, Snow College and the woman’s family said on Saturday.

No further details were released, but the college said that school officials and members of Madelyn Allen’s family would speak with the media later Sunday afternoon.

Allen, 19, was last seen shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday night wearing a white fleece jacket and a dark skirt and carrying a plastic bag. Local and state officials were joined by the FBI in a comprehensive search, as CrimeOnline previously reported.

Allen’s family said Madelyn was “safe and in the care of authorities” in a Facebook post.

“We cannot express enough gratitude to the incredible law enforcement effort,” the post said. “And we are eternally grateful for each of you, your prayers, your love, and your support. Thank you!”

Jonathan Allen, the teen’s father, said earlier that he was concerned his daughter was “facing a major mental health crisis and needs help,” CrimeOnline reported.

Check back for more details as they’re released.
