‘Tonight has been beyond horrific’: Jason Aldean opens up after brutal Las Vegas mass shooting

Country star Jason Aldean took to Instagram shortly after a gunman perched from the 32nd floor of a hotel room and opened fire into a mass of people attending the singer’s concert on Sunday evening in Las Vegas.

“Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still dont know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that Me and my Crew are safe. My Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight. It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night. #heartbroken #stopthehate.”

When gunshots fired out while Aldean performed, many people in the crowd seemed oblivious as the singer ran off the stage. At least 50 people were killed and another 400 injured after the gunman, identified as 64-year-old, Stephen Paddock, shot into the crowd with what authorities believe to be an assault rifle. SWAT teams used explosives to get inside Paddock’s hotel room at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino. The suspect was found dead from self-inflicted gunshot wounds when authorities found him.

Authorities are calling the traumatic incident a “lone wolf” attack. So far, the motive is unknown.
