Stephen Paddock’s brother bragged about Las Vegas shooting before cops arrested him for child porn

The brother of the Las Vegas gunman who killed dozens of people last month was arrested on child pornography charges after he bragged about what his brother had done.

TMZ reports that Bruce Paddock told fellow residents at his assisted living facility in North Hollywood, California, that Stephen Paddock was his brother, prompting a staffer there to contact the Los Angeles Police Department after checking his file to confirm the relation.

The police then discovered an active case file for Bruce Paddock connected to child pornography allegations. As CrimeOnline previously reported, authorities had been searching for Bruce Paddock before the deadly massacre, and arrested him after learning of his location.

Bruce reportedly had an extensive criminal history, with previous arrests for arson, burglary, and criminal threats. Bruce and Stephen Paddock’s father was a career criminal, and spent time on the FBI’s Most Wanted list.

Stephen Paddock does not have any known criminal history, and authorities have not yet reported on any possible motive for the October 1 massacre, which killed 58 people and injured several hundred more. The gunman reportedly took his own life before police breached his hotel room at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
