URGENT: White supremacist who shot police officer on the run, added to Most Wanted list

Anyone with information is urged to call 1-800-TBI-FIND.

A Tennessee police officer was shot on Thursday night and the suspect wanted for his attempted murder is on the run.

WBIR reports that Ronnie Lucas Wilson, 31, of Knoxville, shot Knoxville Police Officer Jay Williams in front of a Target store on Thursday night.  Officer Williams was hit in the shoulder, and is expected to survive what authorities have classified as an attempted murder.

Knoxville Police Chief David Rausch told the news station that Wilson is expected to be armed, possibly with two weapons. While police are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect, civilians are urged not to approach him.

“If he is going to take a shot at an officer, he won’t hesitate to shoot at anyone else,” Rausch told reporters.

KnoxNews reports that Wilson is a member of the Aryan Nations, a white supremacist group. His Facebook page reportedly features shirtless photos of the suspect showing off his Swastika tattoos.

On Friday, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation added Wilson to its Top 10 Most Wanted List, and is offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to his capture.

Anyone with information is urged to call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
