Airman pleads guilty to reduced charges after harboring and having sex with 14-year-old runaway

A former airman at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware was sentenced to one year behind bars after he pleaded guilty to reduced charges in connection to the sexual assault of a teen girl last year.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, 22-year-old Zepplin Taylor-McGinness was arrested in February, several months after authorities learned of the allegations from a relative of the 14-year-old victim.

The initial police report indicated the girl was staying in an apartment complex with a man, though it did not name a suspect.

Authorities discovered him at the apartment with the teen.

Reports indicate the two had reportedly engaged in sexual acts on multiple occasions. Taylor-McGinness had been stationed at Dover Air Force Base and the teen was described as a runaway who lived nearby.

According to Fox News, Taylor-McGinness was initially charged with second-degree rape following his arrest earlier this year.

He later pleaded to fourth-degree rape and child endangerment, according to WDEL.

In addition to the one-year jail term, he was also sentenced to probation upon his release.
