Newlyweds among those killed when limo crash leaves 20 dead in upstate New York: Family

Hours after a limousine crash led to the death of 20 individuals — including the driver, 17 passengers and two pedestrians — on Sunday morning, some of the victims had been identified by relatives and other sources.

According to Fox News, two of those killed when an SUV limo reportedly blew through a stop sign and collided with a parked vehicle were newlyweds Erin Vertucci and Shane McGowan.

Vertucchi’s aunt, Valerie Abeling, said the pair were among those headed to a birthday party. The grieving loved one said her own daughter was invited to the gathering but declined.

Another married couple, Axel and Amy Steenburg, were killed in the crash, according to the man’s stepfather. He said they married earlier this year.

Axel’s brother, Rich, also died, Lester Andrews said.

The parents of two small children were killed in the crash, according to an online fundraiser.

Adam and Abby Jackson leave behind 4-year-old Archer and 16-month-old Elle, as the family posted to the GoFundMe page.

“Adam and Abby were amazing parents to these girls and taken much too soon,” the family’s loved ones wrote. “While families will step in and provide loving care for these girls, there will be expenses that we can help with during this time when we otherwise feel so helpless.”

The fundraiser will help provide for college and other expenses.
